Breaking Patterns - New role models for men in leadership
Support for men in leading positions to achieve better reconciliation of family life and work in the frame of the Community Program: Equal Chances for Women and Men.
The project called BREAKING PATTERNS sets a series of measures in the field of leadership education for men and women in order to learn from the successful role models to influence the public  opinion and perception, and so to slowly change the pattern of assigning family caring and reconciliation responsibilities of family and work to women only.

Objectives of the project:
- To break open traditional patterns of perception of society that the responsibility to reconciliate family and work is assigned to women only
- To sensibilise men in future leading positions (like executive managers, directors, etc.) for reconciliation responsibilties
- To implement a training modul about reconciliation of family and work in the training system for leadership, especially in the training for men to get a leading position

Content of the measures:
The project points out and highlights positive examples of men in leading positions who can be role models for successful reconciliation of family and work. It will develop an education and training module, which will complement existing training programs, courses, seminars and other training measures for young leaders.

Target group:
• Young leaders, managers and people interested in future leading positions
• Mentors and role models for reconciliation in Austria, Sweden, Iceland and Hungary
• Training institutiones of administration of the state government of Lower Austria, the chamber of commerce, the chamber of emploees, the trade unions and other chambers of interests and the political parties
